Here are a few ideas of angles you can take to come up with the perfect headline FOR YOU. Remember, the headline has to be specific to you. This could be your header:. Using this as your headline accomplishes a few things. In addition to comedy, you can go the angle of determined or hardworking. If you are someone who is a hustler or really gets after life, this might be a great spot to showcase your determination and drive with a quote.

These are all great traits to showcase. You can also go the romantic route if you want. In reality, you can use any quote you want in your headline. Just make sure that you ask yourself what the quote is portraying and if that is the correct image you want to give off about yourself. What this is showing is a simple and fool-proof formula to come up with a headline that will convert. By convert, we mean getting the right people to click through and read your profile. You start the headline off with who you are and then end with what you are looking for.

You want to leave things a little mysterious. You want it to intrigue and get people to wonder more about you. The second part should also be left a little mysterious so that people reading it can interpret it how they want. People have a big tendency to interpret things they read to be about themselves. Make sure that you are not selling yourself short in your headline. If you honestly have no redeeming qualities and are plain and boring, you may want to work on yourself a bit before you start dating online.

The part of the dating profile writing that everyone dreads the most is the fact that you have to write about yourself. Knowing how to describe yourself on a dating app is a tall task. Even professional writers who write thousands of words a day struggle when it comes to writing about themselves.

Nothing that we say is going to make this easy, but we are going to help make it easier. Yea, we know. As long as they are supportive friends, you should be in good hands. You are not writing your Wikipedia article. You are writing your online dating profile.

Also, make sure to try and make things interesting with a bit of character in there. You can actually give these facts, but give something more exciting and personal with them.

Notice how we said the same things but we took them a step further and included an interesting fact about ourselves. We see this one ALL THE TIME. People will write their dating profile and spend the whole time talking about how much they hate writing about themselves and how awkward it is. WAYYYYYYY too many people talk about this on their profile, and it gets old to hear time and time again.

Be different. Own the process. Be proud and write confidently and it will come across a lot better than you probably think that it does. Get something down on paper and loaded up and come back to it later. Having ANYTHING up is better than a profile that has NOTHING up. Put up whatever you have now and then come back to it tomorrow and edit. Having a great username for your dating profile is a must. Even if you know how to write a great dating profile and have accomplished it , you could sink yourself with a bad username.

Below are some tips for creating the perfect online dating username. Ladies, scram! This is for the boys. REMEMBER, these are just examples, and you should not copy these word for word. Your dating profile should be about you and not the people that we took these examples from.

I moved out here a few years ago because I knew you were here. Where to begin? Yes, I know.. My hobbies include music, concerts, and hanging out with my awesome friends.

These are two examples of online dating profiles that we think are great. If you notice, they both follow the same formula that you can certainly copy. It goes like this. The formula here is simple. Men, here is one rule, though. It will make you look shallow and scare off a lot of the women that might normally be interested.

You should NOT take these word for word. Your profile needs to be YOUR profile with information about you. This is hands-down the most important section of your dating profile.

The About Me section is your time to introduce yourself to other singles and hopefully get them interested enough to send you a message or respond to your message. I love to go to the movies, drink wine with my girlfriends, volunteer, and go to church.

For fun, I love going to the lake and running. We all know that confidence is really what makes someone sexy. Selfies are great -- but less so if they're taken outdoors. Honestly confused about this one. Apparently would-be lovers prefer selfies ladies take in their living rooms to a badass self-portrait of a woman's face with a backdrop of trees or the Eiffel Tower.

On the flip side, people actually seem to prefer outdoor photos when messaging men. Don't overshare. Don't write about your recent breakup, your ex or your mental health issues. Save the deeper and darker things for in person, once you've actually made a connection with someone. Actually describe yourself. People actually want to hear about what you do with your life, your hobbies and the things you really love.

Zoosk found that people responded more to positively-worded profiles, mentions of intellectual curiosity and reading, creative endeavors and healthy habits, like yoga or running. Embrace a proper use of the English language. Grammar nerds everywhere, rejoice! This makes total sense to us. Who out there hasn't rejected someone purely because he or she decided to start a message with "Ur profile Feel free to make the first move.

For every woman who tells me guys only look at the pictures on her online dating profile, I have two guys who tell me otherwise. It's true, men are visual creatures. But so are women, including this woman. And I know when I come across a guy who I think is physically attractive, what he writes can either spark my interest further or, alternatively, snuff it out completely.

When it comes to online dating profiles, a picture is not always worth a thousand words -- for either of the sexes. What you say matters. There are a lot of eligible singles utilizing online dating sites and apps meaning the onus is on YOU to distinguish yourself from the competition. Posting appealing pictures is an essential first step to creating an engaging online dating profile but not the only step.

The words you choose are a close second because, based on what you write, you have the power to create the most flattering picture of all -- the one that is conjured in the mind. Here are nine tips for writing an engaging online dating profile that will not only pique the interest of others but leave them wanting to learn more.

Choose a meaningful username. Pretend you're an advertising executive who recently landed a big account. You're now charged with the job of selling your product in a few characters. How can you accomplish this? A play on words is one effective way. Are you a beekeeper named Bea? How about calling yourself "QueenBea?

How about calling yourself "Mr. You've already posted pictures specifically for this purpose. Also, be mindful of the image you want to portray, meaning if you're a guy named Stan who's looking for a long-term relationship, it's probably best not to call yourself "OneNightStan.

Use your words. The same advice you received as a child when you were asked to communicate how you were feeling applies here. Online dating sites offer a specific number of characters for a reason. Use them. Pretend you're actually on the date you're trying to get.

What would you want that person to know about you? What would you want to tell them? If what you have to say somehow gets lost in translation when you begin typing, try this: grab your cell phone and start recording a message to yourself about yourself.

Lead with a quick story or anecdote. Once you're finished, play back what you've dictated, writing it down as you do. Lo and behold, you will have a first draft from which you can now craft a more enticing online dating profile, one that doesn't list meaningless adjectives that can be found on countless profiles besides your own.

For the love of God, spellcheck what you've written. In this day and age, there is no excuse for typos, incorrect punctuation, or poor grammar. People will judge you for your errors and hold them against you.

Be positive! Beginning your profile with "I don't know why I'm on this site," or "Does anyone really read these things? If you set yourself up for failure, undoubtedly you will fail. People who are positive attract other positive people. People who are negative attract other negative people or, worse still, no one at all. Highlight a part of your life that you're excited about -- a hobby, a cause, a life change that has empowered you -- and lead with it. Ask a question. Make a bold statement.

Begin with a quote from someone who inspires you and work off of that. Ask a friend. When you're finished writing your profile, run it by a friend or, better yet, three friends, at least one of whom is of the opposite sex. Ask "Is my profile engaging? Be honest. When it comes to writing online dating profiles, as it does in real life, honesty really is the best policy. No one wants to schedule a date with someone who claims to be a skilled tennis player only to find out on the tennis court he or she can barely swing a racquet.

The same goes for your age. If you're 52, there's no sense writing that you look, act, and feel younger or, worse yet, lying about your age. Be proud of who you are and where you are in your life. The right person will be eager to share your enthusiasm. Pull a bait and switch and you will instead see how enthusiasm can quickly turn to ambivalence, even anger.

Don't be rude. Being honest about what you're looking for in a partner is one thing, being rude is another and the line can be a fine one. One of the "best" euphemism phrases I've read on an online dating profile was this one: "If the only gym you know is a guy named Jim, move on. A lot of men prefer a slender woman. But unless you're sporting Brad Pitt's body in the movie " Troy ," especially among us middle agers, all I can do is point you to a glass house and a few stones.

Be elusive. Your online dating profile is not a confessional booth, AA, or a blog post in which to air your dirty laundry. We all have a history and possibly a skeleton or two in the closet. Your "issues" can be discussed when you're actually in a relationship, not when you're first looking for one. Don't exclude.

If what you've been doing so far hasn't been working, i. you find yourself dating the same type of person over and over again and yielding the same undesirable result each time, try broadening your search. Compatibility lies far deeper than whether or not you and a prospective partner both like to cook or whether you enjoy similar music. Compatibility actually has more to do with sharing common core values. So go ahead and experiment!

As Oscar Wilde once said, "To expect the unexpected shows a thoroughly modern intellect. Finding love online may be just the surprise you've been waiting for.
